Spring has finally arrived. Spring comes with swarming insects and the birds that eat them. Most, not all, birds build bird nests. Bird nests come in a large variety of styles and locations.

A bird nest is location where a bird lays it’s eggs and raises it’s young. A bird nest may be built on a tree limb, inside a hollow spot in a tree, on the ground or even in an underground burrow. Some birds simply lay their eggs on a rocky ledge with no nest while others lay their egg in another birds nest with the hope the other bird will raise their young.
This time of year you can see many birds busy, building their nests. Some birds, such as blue birds, may already be finished with nest building. Next time you are out in your yard or on a walk–take time to look up in the trees and see if you can find a bird nest.
