Brand New Programs

Rustic Arts Series
Gather with friends to create works of art inspired by nature. Learn techniques to help make separate crafts or put them all together to make a fabulous letter boxing kit! With each session we will talk about the history of the art form, show a variety of samples and have fun making something to take home. All supplies will be provided.

Sundays from 1 – 2:30pm | Ages 12+ | $18 per class

Nature Center Study Hall
Remember study hall? That class where you could catch up on homework or do research projects? Here is an opportunity for homeschool families, college students, and general nature enthusiasts to come and take advantage of the resources that Fountain Rock has to offer! Once a month we will open our doors and exhibit a special topic but you are welcome to browse through our collections for your personal study. A naturalist will be on hand to help answer questions. ($3 for pre-registration and $5 at the door. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by a registered adult)

Featured Programs

Junior Gardener
Have your little gardener join the Park Naturalist to learn about how seeds grow with this green series of programs. Flowers, fruits, and veggies will be planted in the park and potted to take home for your own junior garden. All supplies provided.

Wednesdays from 10 – 11:15am | Ages 4 – 8 | $8 per person per class

Junior Naturalist
This engaging series includes four natural history classes of interactive field exercises. Through wildlife observations, environmental stewardship practices and ecological studies, you will train to be an assistant naturalist. By attending all four sessions and successfully completing the class activity booklet, participants will be qualified to receive a Junior Naturalist certificate. Please bring a water bottle and wear old clothes and shoes to every session as we will be outside rain or shine.
