Nature Academy

Get ready to play in the park! Observe, listen, smell, and feel the outdoors in this interactive program designed for our smallest nature lovers. Our supplemental, nature based, program is for those pre-school aged children that learn best naturally. Join us as we explore the woods, the creek, the fields, and look deep into our environment to discover answers together. Morning classes are full, afternoon class open.

Ages: 3 – 5 | Thurs. 1:00pm to 3:30pm | Sept. 10th – Dec. 3rd | $90 for the semester

Big Outdoors
Our outdoor nature class for the big kids! We will take a weekly adventure into the woods, creek, or the fields to explore natural science concepts that will teach you about how the “real world” works.

Ages: 6 – 8 | Tuesdays 12:30 – 2:30pm | Sept. 8th – Nov. 10th | $80 for the semester

Enviro Explorers
Step up your nature knowledge, while learning survival skills and discovering through hands-on activities, in this specially designed semester-long program ideal for home-schooled students.

Ages: 9 – 11 | Fridays 12:30 – 2:30pm | Sept. 11th – Nov. 13th | $80 for the semester

Junior Naturalist
This engaging series includes four interactive field based natural history classes. Through wildlife observations, environmental stewardship practices, and ecological studies, you will train to be an assistant naturalist. By attending all four sessions and successfully completing the class activity booklet, participants will be qualified to receive a Junior Naturalist Certificate.

Rustic Arts
Gather with friends to create works of art inspired by nature using traditional techniques. In each session, we’ll discuss the history of the art form, show a variety of samples, and have fun making something to take home. All supplies will be provided.

I LOVE Nature
You are invited to investigate a different nature theme each month! Each session is unique and incorporates games, songs, stories and a craft. Enjoy this time with your child and see the natural world through their eyes. Ages 3 – 5. First Wednesdays from 10 – 11am. $10 per parent child pair.

KIDiscovery
Kids who attend this class are treated to a variety of stations exploring different aspects of a monthly topic. Hands-on games, activities, and crafts get you thinking about nature in new ways. Come play along with us! Ages 2 – 7. Second Wednesdays from 1 – 2:15pm. $12 per parent child pair.

Wee One Fun
In this parent and child program our youngest naturalists will explore our world through stories, songs, games and live animals. Each month will feature a different theme and craft. Ages 2 – 3. Third Wednesdays from 10 – 10:45am. $8 per parent child pair.

Babes in the Woods
Let our naturalist introduce the sights and sounds of nature. Take a sensory walk on our kid friendly trails and listen for frog calls, feel animal furs, or look at bright colorful feathers. There are lots of interesting ways to discover nature together. Ages 4 and under. Third Saturdays from 9 – 10am. $5 per parent child pair.
