Nature Center Building

The building that houses the Nature Center was originally built around 1970 and is now home to many informational displays and discovery boxes for children. Also, live animals that are used in the program include:

  • Snakes
  • Toads
  • Tarantulas
  • Turtles
  • Madagascar hissing cockroaches

Programs during the week require reservations with the Frederick County Division of Parks and Recreation by calling (301) 600-1646.

Walk-in visitors may have access to the Nature Center on weekends. The hours that the building is open to the public are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sundays.
